English for Communication
- Develop the basics of all 4 skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing in a friendly teaching atmosphere with grammar and language usage in order for learners to have a good foundation in English communication.
- Prepare for other specialized courses effectively
Course objectives:
- strong AUA’s teaching approaches with live teaching and with highly qualified native speaking teachers
- enhanced learner autonomy to develop learner-centered teaching and learning.
- flexibility for learners in choosing electives allowing for more opportunities for students to mingle and use English in various situations and topics.
- a clearer learning path for students so they know exactly how long it takes for them to reach the desirable proficiency
Course structure :
- 6 levels: A1/A2/B1/B1+/B2/C1; 4 parts in each level; 80 hours to finish one CEFR level
- 20 hours per part = 18 hours of lessons + 2 hours of electives (1hr /each elective class)
- Oxford Intensive Online Self Practice
- 2 days per week / 2 hrs.15 mins each day + electives
- 4 weeks to complete 1 part in each level.
- Regular level tests (end of part D); mid-level tests as requested by the teachers or the students themselves for highly motivated students to move through the levels even faster
Student qualifications :
15 years old and over
Placement Test: Oxford Placement Test (and Interview if necessary) for new students
